Overview

Windles Group contracted Thomas James Co to strengthen the floor of their factory for the installation of a new machine to add capacity to their operation. All work was to be completed within a live working environment.

Delivery

Windles approached us with a construction brief with specific requirements. With their print business growing they needed to add capacity to their system, this meant adding a new machine. Within the brief, timeframe was crucial, they needed to have the floor completed in time for the delivery of the new machine. It also needed to be completed with minimum disruption to their existing operation.

In the initial consultation we created a framework of working practices which allowed us to create a working timeline that delivered in the required timeframe whilst minimising impact on current operations. We worked specific hours and major works were completed at times agreed with the client to minimise disruption. The weight of this additional machine would require the floor to be strengthened where it was to be placed.
